We’re heading to Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona 🌍🐟—and we’re not coming empty-handed!
We’re proud to announce, we are officially launching our new Community Catch Global Certification Standard, an affordable and credible new Initiative which has been specifically designed for small scale fisheries.
The Community Catch Initiative aims to support access to markets and provide the tools needed to improve small-scale fisheries and provide evidence and confidence to all seafood buyers.
If you’ve been following Community Catch’s journey, or if you’re new to us, here is what we have achieved to date:
✅ Launched 14 alpha trials in 2023 followed by 5 in-depth beta trials in 2024,
✅ Completed two public consultations in 2024 and 2025,
✅ Developed a digital platform with the help of some industry experts,
✅ Finalised our standard,
✅ Initiated the GSSI Global Benchmark process.

For too long, small-scale fishers have been overlooked in the responsible sourcing market due to barriers around certification. Our new standard is designed for them, ensuring real impact while delivering quality, responsibly sourced seafood to global markets.
