Description

Fishtek Marine specialise in reducing fisheries bycatch and the impact of fishing. We primarily design and manufacture technology including pingers to reduce bycatch of dolphins and whales; anti-depredation pingers to reduce depredation of catch and net lights to reduce bycatch of turtles in nets. Pot lights are used to improve catch efficiency and scallop pots and scallop lights can be used as a low impact alternative to catch scallops. We will soon be able to offer a solution to reduce bycatch of sharks in pelagic and demersal longline fisheries. We have experience in bycatch in small and large fisheries globally and can advise on bycatch mitigation strategies and monitoring impact.
