SmartFish Rescate de Valor, A.C. was founded in 2013 with a mission to harness the power of the market to improve the well-being of Mexican artisanal fishing communities and support the conservation of marine resources. Our goal is to strengthen both the supply and demand for fishery products that are environmentally sustainable and socially responsible. On the supply side, we work with organized fishing groups to help them improve their fishing, processing, and marketing practices—so they can get the most value from their catch. On the demand side, we support seafood buyers in creating and adopting sourcing policies that prioritize certified sustainable fishery products.
