OUR PRINCIPLES
Through a multi-stakeholder process, Community Catch has developed a draft fishery certification standard, aligned with global, social, and environmental benchmarks for fisheries. As part of our commitment to developing an initiative that is relevant to small-scale fisheries, we are trialing this standard globally – in marine and freshwater fisheries across five continents, with many common fishing gears and target species represented.
Following the fisheries trials, further development, public consultation and beta-testing of the full program is scheduled throughout 2023, prior to release.
